Distance Learning Students Electing to Return to In-Class for Semester 2

Any students who are new to the school or who were away for Semester 1 are welcome to come to the front doors of the school at the start of the day on Monday, February 1st.  Staff will be available to assist and help students find their classrooms.

Student Progress Reports

Reports for students attending “In-Class” at Champs Vallée will be emailed home on Monday, February 1st.

Online Student-Parent-Teacher conferences will be held on February 16th-18th.  More information on booking appointments will be sent home soon.

January 29th – Teacher Professional Development Day (No school for all students)

February 3rd – Early Dismissal at 2:30 pm (No school for Kindergarten)

February 4th & 5th – North Central Teachers’ Convention (No school for all students)

February 15th – Family Day Holiday (No school for all students and staff)

Valentine’s Day

Classes are encouraged to share kindness and positive messages with classmates using shared Google Slides or other digital platforms.

Homeroom teachers will communicate with parents on the format of any Valentine’s Day activities.

Following AHS COVID-19 guidelines, shared food should not be consumed at school.

We are not encouraging parents to send treats to school to share on Valentine’s Day, but students may bring treats that are factory packaged provided that they are not consumed at school and respect any food allergies in the classroom.  We will let students know that any treats or Valentine’s received must be brought home for their parents to clean, quarantine, or limit as they see fit.  Please reinforce this message with your child closer to Valentine’s Day.

Staffing Update

We would like to congratulate Annie Savard (ECS and Learning Support Teacher) on being the successful candidate for the Assistant Principal position with Black Gold Distance Learning.  Mme Savard will be away from Champs Vallée during this secondment and working with Black Gold Distance Learning students and staff across the division.

In addition to her Grade 2 teaching duties, Jennifer Awid will assume the responsibilities of Learning Support Teacher.

We would like to welcome Tasha McRae to Champs Vallée.  She will be teaching the French Immersion KIndergarten and working with other classes.

We would also like to welcome back Jamy McRae from her leave.  She will be teaching Distance Learning.
