Halloween at ÉCVS
Students are welcome to dress-up and wear costumes to school on October 31.
- Please make sure that your child’s costume is appropriate for school and respectful of all ages and the diversity of our school community.
- Please do not bring costumes with any real or fake weapons.
If you have any questions about the appropriateness of a costume, please ask your child’s teacher. We will do our best to share photos (respecting FOIP) so you can see your child’s class on Halloween.

Food Allergy Canada Halloween Information
Halloween Family Dance
As a Family Dance and a fundraiser, it is our hope that students will have a parent, guardian, or parent of a friend attend with them. This is especially important for younger students as it is an evening event. Tickets are still available on PowerSchool. Capacity is limited.
Food & Drink in the Gym
Black Gold School Division asks that food and drink not be brought into the gym during events in the gym.
November PD Day and Break
The school will be closed for students on November 1 for Staff Professional Development and November 7 to 11 for Remembrance Day and a Midterm Break.
Our Remembrance Day Assembly at the school will take place on Friday, November 4.
Picture Retake Day
Lifetouch will be back at the school on November 2 for photo retakes. Please notify your child’s teacher if you would like to request a retake or if your child missed the first photo day.
Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings
Parent/Student/Teacher meetings have been scheduled for November 29 and 30. An online booking link will be sent out on November 21. Please contact your child’s teacher if you are unable to meet or wish to arrange an appointment for an online Google Meet.
Student Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Ways to assist:
-Follow the direction of our crosswalk supervisors
-If using the drive-through, follow the direction of the green arrows during peek times
-Do not block the driveways of neighbouring residents
-Review bike, scooter, and pedestrian safety with your child
-Have a planned meeting spot away from high traffic locations
-Avoid using the staff parking lot for drop-offs and pick-ups

Idle-Free Zones
To help improve the air quality indoors and out, we request that drivers in our parking lots and drive-thrus turn off vehicle engines during drop-off and pick-up.

Be Scent-sitive
We have students and staff who have allergies and sensitivities to some perfumes and strong scents. We ask that all students and staff be considerate to how strong scents may negatively affect others in shared spaces.
Hot Lunch
Hot Dog Days are back by popular demand! Orders will be open until the Monday of that week (ie: Our first hot day day will be November 4th, last day to order will be October 31st at 12pm. Orders are to be paid promptly. Any unpaid orders will be cancelled.
We have also re-opened hot lunch for another week if anyone has missed ordering.
