4 Seasons of Reconciliation Online Course

Last June, Black Gold School Division purchased the licensing for our staff and community partners to access the 4 Seasons of Reconciliation 3-hour online course. Promoting a renewed relationship between Indigenous Peoples and Canadians, this workplace course provides the basic foundation regarding the relationship between Canada and Indigenous Peoples and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC), including Indigenous peoples’ history, the legacies of residential schools, and treaties.  As a reflection of BGSD’s commitment to reconciliation across our school communities, the Board would like to extend this opening to school councils and volunteers to complete this learning opportunity.  In collaboration with the First Nations University of Canada, the 4 Seasons of Reconciliation course consists of several short modules that can be completed at the learner’s pace. Additionally, there is a certificate of completion and a bonus video library for ongoing learning provided at the end of the course. Access to the course website and bonus video library will be available until August 1st of this calendar year. This course is designed as a self-paced journey that could be completed in one sitting or over several months. This course is open to everyone who works with our students and for our schools, including our bus drivers, secretaries, educational assistants, trustees, school councils, teachers, student services personnel, Division office staff, and volunteers. It offers our school communities the chance to create a common knowledge base for enacting and embedding reconciliation into our everyday actions.

If you are interested in signing up for this course, please send your email address and name to [email protected]
