- Good luck to our junior high track athletes who will be competing in Zones finals today in Sherwood Park!
June 5th (Day 3):
- Grade 3 and 4 boys and girls track practice during the first recess meet at the sandpit (ball throw AND long jump)

June 6th (Day 4):

June 7th (Day 5):
- Elementary Track Day in Devon (Please bring running shoes, water bottle, bagged lunch, and dress for the weather. Please complete the permission form on Powerschool.) GO VOYAGEURS!

Diversity and Inclusion Month
June is Diversity and Inclusion Month at Champs Vallée. Here are some of the planned activities to celebrate diversity in its many forms.
The Champs Vallée Diversity Committee has organized the following presentations / events for the month of June. Please take note of the assemblies and mark down the dates in your calendars. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions.
Monday June 3rd: Wear your traditional clothing/ favourite colour day
June 3 to 7 is BGSD Pride Week: Sharing age appropriate facts about inclusivity and acceptance in our daily announcements. (PLEASE SEE BGSD BOARD STATEMENT ON PRIDE MONTH HERE)
Thursday June 6th: Samosas being brought in at 11:00 and school wide presentation in the gym at 1:00pm which includes Prime Taekwondo School and Danielle George (DnK Steel).
Monday June 10th: Morocco Day School wide presentation in the gym at 9:00 followed by centers for the elementary students at assigned times.
Thursday, June 13th: Student GSA Pride Bake Sale Fundraiser for Fyrefly (MORE INFORMATION HERE)
Friday June 14th: School wide presentation at 1:00 which includes Sangea Academy, 2Moods (Dan Dennis, singer/songwriter).
All month long:
- Diversity Month Video Project
- “People” by Peter Spier. A book you can share with the students or plan a lesson around.
Student and Parent Portal
As teachers begin to enter grades and comments for the June Student Progress Reports, the availability for parents and students to view grades in PowerSchool will be disabled on Friday, June 7, 2024.
Parents and students will no longer have access to view grades in PowerSchool after June 7. Access to view grades will be enabled in the PowerSchool after the delivery of the progress reports.
If you require information regarding your child’s progress, please contact the teacher directly.
School Band Concert
There will be a band concert for those involved on Tuesday June 11 @ 7:00pm. It will be held in the JE Lapointe gym. Students are asked to be at the school by 6:00pm so they can set up their instruments and we can tune and do a quick soundcheck. There will be 4 bands playing that night – the JE Lapointe Grade 7 band, the JEL Grade 8/9 band, the Champs/Dansereau Jr band, and the High School Band. The concert should take just over an hour. The plan is for everything is cleaned up and packed up, and we should be done between 8:30 and 8:45.If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]

Spring Weather
Please pack an extra pair of pants and socks in your child’s backpack. As spring weather begins, there are many wet and muddy areas on the playground and we often have students coming in requesting a change of clothes.
It is also a great time to ask your child(ren) if their indoor shoes still fit, are in good condition, or need to be replaced.
