    ECVS Drive Away Hunger Campaign

We are kicking off our Drive-Away Hunger campaign for the Leduc (and district) Food Bank!

All Champs Vallée classes are encouraged to participate in the “food drive” by bringing in food items to be collected and delivered.

All food items will be collected by the Leduc Food Bank on December 20th. That being said, we are asking that all food items be brought into the school no later than December 19th. Any food donations are greatly appreciated.

While any non-perishable food item is welcomed, we are also encouraging students to bring cereal boxes as we are hoping to attempt another fun, school-wide cereal-box-domino-challenge before they are sent off.

Thank you so much for your support!

    Bottle Drive

The students on the Yukon 2024 trip are hosting a bottle drive from 5-7pm on Wednesday, December 6th. If you’d like to support the cause by donating your time or bottles, please contact [email protected] . Anyone is also welcome to drop off their own bottles that evening at the Beaumont Bottle Depot in support. We thank you for helping us spread the word!

    Alberta Health Services Update

Children who are eligible for immunizations may be immunized in the school setting with parent/guardian consent. Please check your child’s school bag for a package which contains information about the vaccines, along with a consent form for each vaccine. For your child to be immunized in school, consent must be provided to AHS staff verbally or each consent form must be signed and returned to your child’s school by the date indicated on the envelope.

For tips on preparing your child for immunizations, please refer to https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/assets/info/hp/cdc/if-hp-cdc-ipsm-tips-make-imm-easier-child.pdf

The immunization round dates at Ecole Champs Vallee will be Wednesday, January 24, 2024

*If your child is not present on the round dates they may receive immunizations on other dates throughout the school year.

***If you are new to Alberta OR if your child has been immunized at your doctor’s office or pharmacy, AHS Public Health may not have a record of your child’s immunizations. To ensure your child is up to date with all recommended immunizations refer to the schedule at https://www.alberta.ca/immunization-routine-schedule.aspx

    Fundraising Society Bottle Drive

Share your holiday cheer with the Champ Vallée Fundraising Society Bottle Drive!

We are eager and excited to kick off phase 2 of our outdoor classroom project, spring 2024. This phase will include an overhead structure to shelter outdoor learnings year round.

Saturday, January 6th from 10 am to 2 pm, please consider dashing over to ÉCVS to drop off your empties from the holiday season.  There will be vehicles parked at the front of the school to collect donations.

All proceeds collected from our bottle drive will go towards the completion of our outdoor classroom project.

Every family that contributes will be entered into a draw for a Landmark Cinema movie night out!

    Student Drop-Off & Pick-Up

With over 900 people at the school each day, your help is appreciated to facilitate safe drop-offs and pick-ups.

    Ways to assist:

    • Follow the direction of our crosswalk supervisors
    • If using the drive-through, follow the direction of the green arrows during peak times
    • Do not block the driveways of neighbouring residents
    • Review bike, scooter, and pedestrian safety with your child
    • Have a planned meeting spot away from high traffic locations
    • Do not use the staff parking lot for drop-offs and pick-ups

    Powerschool Verification

A reminder to please sign into your parent portal on Powerschool and fill in the Enrollment Verification form. This is very important to ensure that we have all the information required for the school year. You can find it at the bottom of the Navigation bar when you log into the parent portal.

    Ski Club Update

Due to lack of snow in the immediate forecast, we have had to cancel our ski club trip scheduled for December 14th. We look forward to having some snow and moving forward with our January 18th scheduled visit. Online forms to register for that after school field trip will be available immediately after our Winter break. Please let [email protected] if you have any questions.

    Cold Weather Clothing

With the snow starting to fall, please remember that it’s important to ensure students are dressed for the weather. This includes tuques, mitts, warm coats and proper footwear. Students are outside for recess and at the beginning and end of the day so please ensure that they are prepared to stay warm outside.
