School News

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

We’re excited to announce the ÉCVS Pride Week Bake Sale — a fun way to celebrate diversity and support LGBTQ+ youth! Each baked item will be sold for $1, and proceeds will go to Fyrefly, an organization dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ youth. This is an optional event for our school community.

Date: Friday, June 6, 2025
Time: 11:30 PM – 1:50 PM
Location: ÉCVS Servery

How You Can Help:

  • Bake: If you would like to participate, please fill out this google form
    • Prepare your favorite baked goods and package them for sale. Please bring 6-12 items to be sold. Get as creative and colorful as you would like! Please avoid using peanuts.
    • Drop off your baked goods to your child’s homeroom class on the morning of Friday, June 6, 2025. Our team will come to collect the baked items for selling.
  • Buy: Send $1 with your child to purchase a treat at the sale.
  • Donate: If you cannot participate but would like to donate, follow this link: Support Fyrefly.
  • Volunteer: Help with setup, sales, or cleanup — indicate interest in the form.

Why Participate?
This event is a chance to celebrate Pride, support an important cause, and strengthen our school community.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and support. Together, we can make a positive impact and celebrate the spirit of Pride Month!

Sincerely,

École Champs Vallée School

Spare Clothes

As we transition through the wet and muddy season, we kindly ask that all students have a spare set of clothes (including socks) in their backpack each day. With the unpredictable weather and active recess play, having an extra set of clothing will help keep students comfortable throughout the day if they get wet or muddy.

Student Drop-Off & Pick-Up

With over 900 people at the school each day, your help is appreciated to facilitate safe drop-offs and pick-ups.

Ways to assist:

  • Follow the direction of our crosswalk supervisors
  • If using the drive-through, follow the direction of the green arrows during peak times
  • Do not block the driveways of neighbouring residents
  • Review bike, scooter, and pedestrian safety with your child
  • Have a planned meeting spot away from high-traffic locations
  • Do not use the staff parking lot for drop-offs and pick-ups

NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO EXIT STRAIGHT OUT OF THE DRIVE-THRU ZONE

Student Absences

To notify the school of an absence or to sign your child out;  please complete the ECVS: Online Absence Reporting Form

Vacations

Students are expected to attend school on scheduled school days and take holidays according to the school year calendar. If parents/guardians choose to take their child out of school at times other than school holidays, teachers will not provide work for that time. Any missed work or tests will be made up when the student returns, at the teacher’s discretion.

Relocating or Transferring Schools

Please inform the school office as soon as possible if your family is moving or transferring schools. The office staff can only accept this information from a parent or guardian, not from a student.

Teachers and administrative staff need time to update grades, generate report cards, and prepare other necessary documents for student records to ensure a smooth transition to the new school.

Updated Information

To ensure you are receiving pertinent information from the school please let the office know if you need to update your contact information including your phone numbers and email addresses.
