    WELCOME BACK

Our Champs Vallée Staff is looking forward to the return of students this week. While this school year will look very different, our staff will do their best to promote a safe learning environment and meaningful learning opportunities.

    STAGGERED ENTRY

Staggered entry days will be considered the first day of class. Students should have supplies and be prepared for instruction.   Schools reopen to students on Sept. 8, 2020. Unlike previous years, students are returning using a staggered entry—meaning only certain grades start back on September 8. The next day, another grade group comes to the school. The staggered entry allows students and families to ease into the new experience of attending school. It also helps schools explain to students the new routine and health and safety measures before a full restart takes place.

    • Sept. 8, 2020:  K (AM/PM), 3,6,9
    • Sept. 9, 2020: K (AM/PM),Gr. 2, 5, 8
    • Sept. 10, 2020: K (AM/PM), Gr. 1,4,7
    • Sept. 11, 2020: Regular Classes begin Grades K to 9

Before returning to school, please review our school re-entry plan.

SCHOOL COUNCIL AGM – SEPTEMBER 21st

School council is a collective association of parents, teachers, principal, staff and community representative(s) whose purpose is to advise the principal and the board respecting matters relating to the school.  It is a means for parents and community members to work together with the school to support and enhance student learning.  All parents (registered at ÉCVS for In-School or Distance Learning) are welcome to attend the School Council meetings. Our school council will be using Google Meet for the foreseeable future.

A message from the ÉCVS School Council:
Hello to the entire ÉCVS school community and a big thank you to the staff and families that have worked so hard to get this new year started under these challenging circumstances.
The ÉCVS School Council is welcoming and inclusive to anybody that wants to attend, without any pressure to sign up for commitments and roles.  School Council meetings are a great opportunity to hear about what is happening in the school and a chance to provide input to the school administration.
The School Council annual general meeting is taking place virtually on September 21.  The priority for this meeting is to elect the executive for the upcoming year.
Here is a summary of executive roles within the school council for anybody that is interested in getting involved in this capacity:

Chair – Chairs all school council meetings, communicates with the principal to create meeting agendas and represent the school council in communication with the Alberta School Council Association.

Vice-Chair – Mainly supports the Chair and is ready to stand in if the Chair needs to be away.

Secretary – Takes minutes at each meeting.

Communication Liaison – Works with the Chair and Principal to keep the school community informed about what is happening with the school council.

Fundraising Liaison – The school fundraising society is seperate from the school council, this position would act as a communication liaison between the two groups.  Attending school council and fundraising meetings are the only commitments.

More details on the virtual AGM will be sent out soon.  If you have any questions at all about the ÉCVS School Council feel free to email [email protected]
