    November Break

    All Black Gold School will be closed from November 8th to 12th for a mid-term break.

    Please be aware that at this time, unvaccinated children travelling outside of Canada can’t attend school for 14 days upon return to the country.

    Happy Diwali to any of our families celebrating the festival of lights.

    Remembrance Day

    In addition to the video prepared by our school, classes may have used some of these resources shared by the Canadian Armed Forces which included a Remembrance Day Video made especially for our school by Captain Myung Yang (Signal Officer in the Canadian Army, Base Shilo).

    ·         CAF speakers delivering a message specific for children in kindergarten to grade 2  

    ·         CAF speakers delivering a message specific for youths in grade 3 to 6

    ·         Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers delivering a message specific for teens in grade 7 to 12

    ·         CAF speakers delivering a general message for audiences of all ages

    ·         Veterans’ Week Q&A with Brigadier-General Jamie Spieser-Blanchet, commander of Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers

    The CAF speaker’s videos will be available for sharing on our social media channels, including Facebook (Canadian Armed Forces) and Twitter [@CanadianForces].

    Student, Parent, Teacher Conferences

    Student, Parent, Teacher Conferences will be held virtually (via Google Meet) the week of November 22nd to 25th. Homeroom teachers will be sending out sign up information to parents soon. 

    Air Quality

    Idle-Free Zones

    To help improve the air quality indoors and out, we request that drivers in our parking lots and drive-thrus turn off vehicle engines during drop-off and pick-up.

    Be Scent-sitive

    We have students and staff who have allergies and sensitivities to some perfumes and strong scents. We ask that all students and staff be considerate to how strong scents may negatively affect others in shared spaces.

    Utensils

    We are happy to provide disposable utensils to students who may have lost or forgotten to pack a utensil for their snack or lunch. However, we would like to encourage our students and families to remember to pack reusable utensils from home when needed.

    Crazy Hair Day – November 18

    Students and staff are encouraged to participate in Crazy Hair Day by coming to school with creative hairstyles.

    Wear Blue Day – November 19

    In recognition of the United Nations World Children’s Day on November 20, we encourage all students and staff to wear something blue on Friday, November 19.
